August Wrap Up aka vacation recovery & renewed blogging motivation

I'm sure that I say this every month, but I honestly don't know where August went...

Writing aka I've started a new project
I've wanted to write a retelling for the longest time and now, I finally am! Even better, I'm doing so with my closest writer friend <3 We're still in the brainstorming/planning stages (who knew world building and magic systems could be so complicated?!) so I'm excited to see where it goes.

Enchanted Bottle Craft aka catching up from vacation
As you may know, I was on holiday throughout July and left my Etsy shop open which meant I came back to an influx of orders that needed to be sent out ASAP. I did this in one hell of a hectic day and so everything is back up and running *phew*. Just in time for my first anniversary coming up (with a giveaway).

Blogging aka lack of
Vacation = no blogging. Time after vacation when I haven't left that bubble = dwelling on the fact I'm no longer on vacation and no blogging.
It developed into a slump, much like my reading has, but it looks like I'm almost out of it! I'm excited to start again properly.

Life aka done with high school
I got my GCSE results August 25th which made it more official that I never have to go back to the horror that was high school! Or GCSEs! *dancing* Now I can do a subject that I actually like *continues dancing*

School aka messy planning
I've been spending so much time in the last few weeks doing late planning for September - college courses, traineeships etc. Basically attempting to work out what to do with my life. It's been stressful to put it lightly, but we now have a plan (thank god). I'm hoping to blog regularly while at college among the many other things I'll be doing, but we'll have to see...

Reading aka slumps suck
Reading slumps for me, mean I both lack the motivation to read and don't enjoy the books as much as I would at another time. That said, I still read a few and enjoyed them.

Reign of Shadows (Reign of Shadows #1) by Sophie Jordan -
A dark retelling of Rapunzel set in a dangerous world with plenty of creatures that creeped me out, eclipsed only by the other emotions it evoked including a large amount of love (Fowler stole my heart), sympathy (Luna's naivety meant life wasn't easy) and annoyance (that ending!) 5 STARS
Ilvermony School of Witchcraft and Wizardry by J.K. Rowling -
A lovely short story that explained how the American wizarding school came to be. It's always fun to delve back into the brilliant world Rowling created. 5 STARS
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Harry Potter #8) by J.K.Rowling & John Tiffany & Jack Thorne -
I could very easily be critical towards this book, listing the things I loved and those I didn't. Personally however, I don't see a point, because it all comes down to the fact that I enjoyed reading it.While this book may not have followed my ideas or expectations, I'm glad I had the chance to read it. Also, Scorpius is too precious! 4 STARS
Ren: The Monster Inside the Monster (Ren Series #3) by Sarah Noffke -
I've loved this series since reading about Ren's snarky self in the first book so I'm undeniably sad to see the series end. However it couldn't have been better. 5 STARS

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff -
Brilliant read, the epitome of original. While parts may have dragged, I still flew through it! 4 STARS
Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns #1) by Kendare Blake -
I expected to love this book, so now I'm disappointed because when I found myself having no connection to the story or characters, I didn't enjoy it. 2.5 STARS review to come
Return to the Isle of the Lost (Descendants #2) by Melissa de la Cruz -
This quick, light read was perfect to get me out of my reading slump while satisfying my Disney craving (I miss Disney World okay?) 4 STARS
The King of Rats (The Sin Eater's Daughter #0.5) by Melinda Salisbury -
I love a good origin story and this novella was brilliant, as expected! The Sleeping Prince is becoming a favourite villain so it was interesting to see him as he as before, well, going to sleep! 4 STARS

I hope you all had a great month! I'd love to hear some of things you've been doing/reading :)
